Knapp ties season high with 15 kills in Chargers’ sweep at Black Hawk

MOLINE — Madalynn Knapp matched her season high in kills as the Sandburg volleyball team swept Black Hawk 27-25, 25-22, 26-24 in an Arrowhead Conference match Wednesday night.

Knapp put down 15 kills against just three errors and recorded a .480 hitting percentage in the victory. It's the third time this season Knapp has collected 15 kills in a match. The freshman from Burlington (Iowa) Notre Dame High School previously did it Aug. 23 against St. Clair County and Aug. 24 against Mott. Both of those were four-set affairs.

Abigail Shaffer added six kills and a team-leading 20 digs in the win for the Chargers (10-9, 4-1), who have won three in a row and four of their last five. Harlee Hainds added five kills and four blocks.

Quinn Rexroat distributed 28 assists, and Jalie Eller turned in 10 digs for Sandburg. Shaffer and Emma Schweigert each served an ace in the victory.
