Erke’s 10 Kills in Return to Lineup Leads Chargers Past Triton

GALESBURG — Lauren Erke had a team-best 10 kills in her return to the lineup and the Carl Sandburg College volleyball team swept Triton 25-20, 25-10, 25-13 on Monday at John M. Lewis Gymnasium.

Erke, who sat out the Chargers' previous match because of injury, had just two errors on 27 attempts for a .296 hitting percentage to lead Sandburg (7-7). The sophomore also picked up 15 digs, served two aces and had a solo block.

Gracie Rademacker added nine kills, 13 digs and a team-high three aces for Sandburg. The Chargers also got double-digit performances in digs from libero Jasmin McDaniel (17) and setter Carmyn Baldwin (11). Baldwin also doled out 29 assists and matched Rademacker's three aces.

Jadyn Swan had eight kills and two aces for Sandburg, which stayed unbeaten in three home matches.

The victory matched the Chargers' fifth in a row over Triton, which had come in with a 6-1 record.
