Hackman medalist with 83 in Chargers’ dual vs. Vikings
GALESBURG — Sophomore Ava Hackman easily won medalist honors as the Sandburg women's golf team hosted Augustana JV in a dual match Wednesday at Soangetaha.
Hackman carded an 11-over-par 83 to be medalist by seven shots over Augustana's Karli Borsch, Ellie Jahn and Kristin Rundle. Hackman recorded a birdie and seven pars on her card. She birdied the par-5 third hole and closed with a 5-over 40 on the back nine.
The Vikings finished at 370 for the day, edging the Chargers by just three shots.
Sandburg's Lauren Minkel finished with a 92, and Kylie Fahnestock carded a 93. Minkel had two birdies in her round, on the par-4 13th and par-5 17th.
