Chargers crush McHenry County as 6 score in double figures

CRYSTAL LAKE — Six Chargers scored in double figures as the Sandburg women's basketball team hammered McHenry County 86-62 on Tuesday afternoon.

Tiera Hall and Antonia Kisler each scored 16 to lead the Chargers (7-5), who jumped to a 20-6 lead after the opening quarter. Hall also corralled a team-best 15 rebounds for Sandburg as she recorded her fifth double-double of the season. Hall was 8 of 11 from the field and had seven offensive boards. The sophomore also had five assists and three steals.

Kisler finished 6 of 16 from the floor and had seven rebounds to go along with three assists and a pair of pilfers.

Freshman Hailey Redding came off the bench of scored 13 points. Paige Huffman, inserted into Tuesday's starting lineup, responded by hitting three 3-pointers and scoring 11 points.

Freshman Lajaya Angel finished with 10 points, seven rebounds, three assists and two steals while making 5 of 6 shot attempts. Camryn Atterberg scored 10 off the bench in addition to grabbing five rebounds, picking up two steals and blocking two shots.

Janessa Wallace scored only three points, but the freshman from Peoria Heights had nine of the Chargers' 27 assists in the contest and had five offensive rebounds.

Sandburg led 39-28 at halftime and extended its lead to 20 by outscoring the Scots 26-17 in the third quarter.
