Garcia scores in 3rd straight, but Chargers fall on road to Falcons

GALESBURG — Luis Garcia recorded a goal for the third straight contest, but the Sandburg men's soccer team dropped a Region 4 match 3-1 at Truman on Monday afternoon.

Playing the first of six straight road games, Sandburg conceded two first-half goals to the Falcons, who scored in the 14th and 22nd minutes. Truman added another in the 63rd minute to make it 3-0.

Garcia got the Chargers (3-2) on the board in the 68th minute as he scored off an assist from Iker Garcia. The tally gave Luis Garcia four goals in Sandburg's last three games.

Gautier Ramont and Sergi Cruz each saw time in goal for the Chargers. Truman scored on both shots on goal against Ramont in 30 minutes of play. Cruz stopped five of six Falcons shots on goal.

Sandburg had six shots on frame in the loss.

Truman improved to 6-0 overall and 4-0 in Region 4 play. The Chargers' only other loss this season came against another unbeaten team, Madison, which is 4-0 overall and 3-0 in the region.
