Trio of Chargers shoot in 70s as men’s golf wins Eureka Tri
METAMORA — The Sandburg men's golf team won the Eureka Tri on Wednesday at Metamora Fields as three Chargers posted rounds in the 70s.
The Chargers finished the day with a team score of 297, beating their previous season low — set in the first round of the Fighting Scot Fall Invitational — by 10 strokes. Sandburg beat host Eureka and Westminster in the three-team event.
Logan Beers posted an even-par 71 to lead Sandburg, and Colby Robertson had a season-best round of 1-under 72. Freshman Sam Cory also shot a season low as he carded a 74 for his third consecutive round in the 70s.
Tanner Wake had an 80 to come in with the Chargers' fourth counting score.
Cooper Hansen (85), Kellen Seipp (89) and Tanner Sedam (95) also competed for Sandburg.
