Balanced Chargers Win Big on Road Against Red Devils
EUREKA — Roee Dinnar led a balanced scoring attack for the Carl Sandburg College men's basketball team in a 72-43 blowout over Eureka JV on Wednesday night.
Dinnar scored a team-best 11 points as the Chargers had 10 players record at least one field goal while snapping a six-game slide. Dinnar hit 3 of 6 3-point attempts in the victory.
Sandburg (6-15) built a 40-24 halftime lead that saw it go a perfect 10 for 10 at the foul line. The Chargers then held the Red Devils to just 19 points in the second half, including 0 of 13 from 3-point range. Sandburg's biggest lead was 35 points with 5:28 to go.
Dinnar was 4 of 11 from the field in the victory and was the only Sandburg player in double figures. Connor Barnett had nine points on 4-of-9 shooting while adding five rebounds and two assists. Griffin Ronnebeck also scored nine points while shooting 3 of 6 from beyond the arc.
Hunter Caves, Dashawn Wells and Aimery Jackson each scored eight points for the Chargers. Wells also had a game-best seven rebounds.
Colin DeLaere had 12 points for Eureka JV to lead all players.
