No way, Jose! Narvaez’s walk-off double in 11th sends Chargers past John Wood

GALESBURG — Jose Narvaez's walk-off double lifted the Sandburg baseball team to a wild 12-11 win over John Wood in 11 innings on Thursday.

Key moments
• The Chargers raced to a 6-1 lead in the first inning, but saw the Blazers come back to tie the game at 6-6 in the fourth.
• Sandburg regained the lead with a five-run fifth. Derek Castillo doubled in Dayton Lundstrom to put the Chargers ahead, and Narvaez's two-out, two-run double made it 9-6. Lucas Price followed by lifting a two-run homer to center to give Sandburg an 11-6 advantage.
• The Chargers maintained an 11-10 lead heading into the ninth, but a leadoff single came around to score as John Wood pushed the game into extra innings.
• Still knotted at 11-11 in the 11th, Talen Davis drew a two-out walk. Narvaez then knocked an 0-1 pitch into right-center and Davis came all the way around from first to score the winning run and set off a wild Chargers celebration.

Sandburg standout
Narvaez's game-winning knock capped a 3-for-6 day at the plate. The sophomore shortstop doubled twice, scored twice and drove in four runs. His three hits tied for his most in a game, and his four RBIs also were a career high.
