GALESBURG — Jose Narvaez and Jace Wilkerson each connected for a three-run home run in Game 1, but Spoon River held off the Chargers in both games of a doubleheader Wednesday afternoon.

Key moments
• Narvaez lifted a three-run home run to left with two out in the bottom of the second to give the Chargers a 3-1 lead. It marked Narvaez's first longball of the season.
• Sandburg took a 3-2 lead into the sixth, but the Chargers saw their advantage slip away as the Snappers plated six runs in the inning.
• Derek Castillo's RBI double in the seventh cut Sandburg's deficit to 8-4. With two out, Talen Davis walked and Wilkerson sent a three-run homer to right to bring the Chargers within a run. Lucas Price singled to put the tying run on base, but Narvaez flied out to right to end the game.

• Down 11-4 in the fourth, Sandburg pieced together a six-run inning to get within as run. Key at-bats in the frame included a two-run double from Yasiel Trinidad, a Derek Cintron RBI hit, a Dayton Lundstrom sacrifice fly and Wilkerson's two-out RBI single.
• Spoon River answered back as the first four batters in the fifth reached base to kick off a four-run inning.
Sandburg standout
Trinidad went 2 for 3 with a double, a walk, three runs scored two RBIs and a pair of steal from the leadoff spot in the order.
