Wilkerson wallops 2 HR in loss to Cougars

GALESBURG — Jace Wilkerson went deep twice, but Illinois Central handed the Carl Sandburg College baseball team a 15-9 loss in a nine-inning contest Wednesday at the Hungate Baseball/Softball Complex.

KEY MOMENT
The Cougars scored in eight of nine innings and had multiple runs in four frames. ICC's four-run fourth gave them a 9-2 edge.

SANDBURG STANDOUT
Wilkerson went 3 for 4 and reached four times as he collected three extra-base hits, scored twice, drove in three and drew a walk. He popped a solo shot to center in the fourth, added a two-run dinger to right in the sixth and stroked a double in the ninth. He put four balls over the wall in his last five games.
